• Am I eligible if my support material is postmarked on or before deadline date, but is not received by deadline?

  No. Your application will be incomplete.

• How do you select finalists?

  Scholarship selection committee members individually review and score each eligible application. The committee then meets and chooses finalists.

• Is there anything in my record that would cause my application to be declined?

  Yes, your compiled college GPA is less than a 3.0, unless you have a particularly difficult major or unusual circumstance (i.e. hospitalization, death in family, poor college start but marked improvement). Your complete application was not received by deadline.

• Is there anything in my record that would cause my application to be viewed unfavorably?

  You have not worked during school and/or summer and were not enrolled in summer school, unless you have a particularly demanding major. You have a financial aid package that pays the major part of your educational expenses. If there are extremely extenuating circumstances, your application might be considered. You have not held a job in the last calendar year. Summer and other seasonal work is accepted.

• When and where will interviews be held?

  All interviews will be held at the Roger Public Schools Administration Building, 500 West Walnut, Rogers, AR. Dates for interviews are shown in the calendar on the home page.

• What if I can't attend the interview?

  If you have an unavoidable conflict or are attending college out of the area, a Zoom interview may be arranged. It is important to note, though, that it is in your best interest to make every reasonable effort to attend the interview. If you are studying abroad, we can conduct an interview by emailed questions and answers.

• What if there is inclement weather on my interview date?

  Instructions will be posted on our Facebook page and on the Buck Foundation Instagram site.

• How will I know if my application and support materials have been received?

  You will receive an email notifying you when each component of the application is received. Status updates will be emailed periodically. Your application is not complete until you receive an email confirming that your application is complete. This refers to all components of your application:

  High School transcript received
  Signature page (scholarship contract agreement found under FORMS)
  Complete college transcript(s) (all colleges with grades of all classes)

• I applied last year. Do I need another High School transcript?

  Yes. We are required by the IRS to create new files annually.

• I received a scholarship last year. Do I need to submit a transcript to the RDF and another with my application to the Buck Foundation?

  Yes. The RDF requires separate and different documentation for release of funds. Do NOT submit any scholarship application support materials to the RDF or your application will be considered incomplete.

• Do you require official, sealed transcripts?

  No. Transcripts may be mailed, emailed as an attachment, or faxed. Internet generated advisement copies of your college class history and grades will be accepted. Those must contain your name and an official heading or letterhead of the college indicating the source of the copy. Electronic submission (email as attachment or fax) of documents is preferred.

  No. All support material must be mailed, emailed as an attachment, or faxed.

• Why won't the information in my application 'save'?

  You did not "save" your information after each section. You tried to enter too many letters into a field. Use abbreviations for lengthy addresses, majors, etc.

• Any other tips?

  Order your high school transcript before winter break. If you wait until Rogers Public Schools resume in January, your transcript may not be received by the deadline.
  
  Don't wait until the last minute to begin the application process. If you encounter technical glitches, or get sick, or have another emergency you may not be able to complete your application by the deadline.
  
  The USPS does not guarantee next-day or three-day service.
